Chloe Piene was born in 1972 and lives and works in New York, NY and Berlin, Germany. She received her MFA from Goldsmiths College and BA from Columbia University. In this etching, Piene's focus is the tender exchange between the figures, suggesting a world of their own. The viewer becomes a participant in exploring all of the potential forms of their combination. Her work has been the subject of national and international exhibitions including Galerie Barbara Thumm, Berlin, Germany; Rotwand Gallery, Zürich, Switzerland; Musée d’Art Contemporain, Nimes, France; and D'Amelio Terras, New York, NY. She is included in numerous public collections including Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA.
