Amy Kao Amy Kao was born in Taipei, Taiwan and lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College. The imagery represented in this work are woven arabesques of exponentially multiplying ribbon-like scrawls, ornamental flora, foliage and camouflage. Together, the intersecting and overlapping motifs produce an intricate and rhythmic sequence of interlaced contours against a colored backdrop. Kao was the recipient of the Printshop's 2006 Special Editions Residency. Exhibitions include Michael Steinberg Fine Art, New York, NY; Venetia Kapernekas Gallery, New York, NY; and Apexart, New York, NY.
