April Gornik was born in 1953 in Cleveland, OH and lives and works in New York, NY. She received her BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Her landscape paintings, prints, and charcoal drawings are rich in detail, portraying heightened realist depictions of trees, coastlines, open fields, and mountains. Viewers commonly mistake her works for photographs. Select solo exhibitions include Danese Gallery, New York, NY; Heckscher Museum, Huntington, NY; and Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin, OH.
