Lower East Side Printshop is pleased to announce its appointment of
Marie Tennyson as the new Executive Director.
Marie brings nearly 20 years of experience to LESP, including her most recent tenure as Director of Sales at Universal Limited Art Editions. She served as the Associate Director of the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies at Columbia University, and, with her not-for-profit leadership background, she will further advance the 54-year-old mission of the Printshop to support contemporary artists of all career and artistic backgrounds in the creation of new work.
“The Board is overjoyed to welcome Marie to the Printshop,” said John Koegel, President.
“And we expect the print community to be overjoyed as well.”
“I’m very proud and honored to be given the opportunity to lead an organization which I have so greatly respected for so many years,” said Marie. “I am excited to further the Printshop’s legacy, with new programs and expanded collaborations with artists. As one of the last remaining non-profit workshops in Manhattan, it will be important to solidify the future of the Printshop and allow many more generations of artists access to this medium.”
In addition to educational programming, the Printshop will continue to provide 24-hour access to professional printmaking facilities for artists of all backgrounds and career stages through its membership program, studio rental, and Keyholder Residency. Under Marie’s leadership, the Printshop also will continue to be available for contract printing, exclusive workshops and demonstrations, as well as private print viewings and tours.
